Friends,

I've been thinking lately:

• I want to continue to grow in my knowledge and love for a God who loves the world.
• I want to continue to grow in my knowledge and love for a Community of caring folks to share life's journey with.
• I want to stay committed to purposes for living that are noble and bigger than me.
• I want to live by a moral code that is tested and rests on holy foundations.
• I believe in Jesus as Lord for my life now and into an eternal future.
• I want to be a good steward of resources and use those resources for something more than self indulgence.
• I want to grow in my ability to discern the Holy Spirit's promptings and stay tuned to God's frequency.
• I want to grow strong families and strong marriages and people who may have neither.
• I want to do my part to alleviate suffering and serve as an agent of hope.
• I need forgiveness and grace to begin again when I mess up.
• I want to live with hope that my present and my future are in line with God's will.
• I want to continue to grow my mind, my spirit, abilities and my relationships as an offering of gratitude for the gift of life that God has given.
• I want to resist evil.

Christians have been effectively loving God and neighbor through this congregation of the United Methodist Church here in the heart of Holt and the greater Lansing Metro area since 1853. The embrace of this church today touches missions in Bolivia and hungry children in Haiti. We support blood drives in Michigan and outreach in Appalachia. We annually supply backpacks and coats for children in Holt. Our child enrichment center offers great day care in a loving Christian environment and has developed a well deserved local reputation for excellence with children and families. Bereaved persons find comfort here. Seniors make friends. Youth are nurtured. Families of all shapes are strengthened. Our prayer team is a blessing to all. People grow in their love for Jesus here through inspirational worship, study, and service.

We are a people of open hearts, open minds, and open doors.
